Do you think of your empty soda cans and food cans as a natural resource? They are. Americans discard about 2.7 million tons of aluminum each year and about 50 percent of that is recycled. Apart from the economic impact, the environmental savings of recycling are enormous. Recycling steel and tin cans saves 74 percent of the energy used to produce them. Since cans are 100% recyclable, we could drastically reduce the energy needed to produce brand new cans simply by recycling the ones we empty. Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to power a television for three hours.
Currently, about 70 percent of cardboard boxes shipped commercially are recovered for recycling. When recycled, cardboard is used to make chipboard for things like cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, printing and writing paper. Recycling just one ton of paper saves enough energy to power the average American’s home for six months!
All Elements provides energy conservation evaluations on homes and businesses and are experts in helping you green your home in all of our five principles: reducing pollution, conserving resources, conserving energy, reducing consumption and waste, and protecting the Earth’s ecological balance. We can guide you in making cost-effective choices that will make a huge impact toward becoming green.
All Elements knows that schools are major consumers of energy, paper, food, water, cleaning products and other resources, and collectively they generate a large amount of waste and pollution. However, they also have the potential to use resources efficiently and serve as positive examples of environmental sustainability for surrounding communities. Our focus is driven by our children's future on this earth and with our children in mind, always. All Elements aims to positively affect the environment we live in:
